Academic Program
Participants receive approximately 18 hours per week of classroom instruction, led by expert faculty from leading local universities and educational institutions. Courses are designed to strengthen speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency in the language of study. Language courses also cover topics in literature, history, politicis, culture, mass media, and area studies. Participants studying Persian Farsi or Dari will also receive at least 2 hours per week in Persian Tajiki instruction. Read More

Before leaving the U.S., ALL program participants are required to attend a mandatory pre-departure orientation program at the American Councils Washington, D.C. office. Read More

Participants studying in Dushanbe have access to a full-time Resident Director. Read More

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Eurasian Regional Language Program in Tajikistan, applicants must have completed one year of college-level study of Dari, Farsi, Tajiki, Uzbek or Russian. Read More
