Academic Program
Participants studying Kyrgyz or Uzbek will receive approximately 15 hours per week of classroom instruction, led by expert faculty from leading local universities and educational institutions. Courses are designed to strengthen speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency in the language of study. Courses in literature, history, politics, culture, and area studies are available for advanced students. Read More

Pre-Departure Orientation
Before leaving the U.S., ALL program participants are required to attend a mandatory pre-departure orientation program at the American Councils Washington, D.C. office. Read More

In Country Support and Orientation
American Councils regional offices, employing more than 375 expatriates and host-country nationals, provide logistical support for participants on the Eurasian Regional Language Program. Read More

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Eurasian Regional Language Program in Kyrgyzstan, applicants must have completed two years of college-level study of Kyrgyz, Uzbek, or Russian. Read More
